The limited edition Mad Horse Table was on display as part of a larger collective called Talents Design, a design collection/gallery aimed at manufacturing highly limited quantity art/design pieces by leading Israeli designers. In making the table, Benshalom fused two different worlds; the organic and the pragmatic, to deliver an animal-inspired sculpture that additionally functions as a table.
Although this piece looks like it might get up and run out of your dining room, the table is designed to stay on all fours, be admired, curiously conversed over and functionally dined on.
With its gold-hoofed feet, muscled legs and rounded underbelly, the Mad Horse Table is sure to create a unique sense of dynamism in any interior space. The collection consists of only 18 pieces, all constructed of layered fiber-Glass with resin coating; some with a glossy car paint finish, while others come in matte black.
An Israeli designer named Samuel David Ben-Shalom, whose work reminded us a bit of surrealist painter Salvador Dali, Ben-Shalmon’s “Mad Horse” table is not only a furniture piece but also a surrealistic sculpture, the table is made out of what looks like a mass of bubbles and of course the four rotated horse legs, it comes in black slick finish and would look great in an ultra-modern space. Look at some images of this unique-chic table.
